Drilling
$ per ft. |
The
program contains unit costs which are average for the Houston, TX area.
These values are shown in the blanks at the left. These values are used
as default values when the LIDA Groundbed Design program calculates
costs for construction of a groundbed to match a particular design. (When using default costs and Shallow Vertical or Horizontal designs, 11% of the default drilling cost is used.)
If you wish the program to calculate construction costs
more precisely for your particular situation, you must enter new unit
costs in the form at the right, name the set of costs, then press the
Submit button.
Why name the set of unit costs?
There are several reasons. They may help you to use the program more
effectively.
- The program must keep track of numerous sets of
cost data.
- Many users might be using the program simultaneously
-- remember, you might be on the WWW.
- You may want to design groundbeds for different parts
of the world and will therefore require different sets of costs depending
on location.
- Costs are different for Deep, Shallow, and Horizontal designs.
Your costs can be used only if your computer accepts
cookies. When you submit this form, the information will be saved in
a cookie on your computer.
When you access the groundbed design program, it will
check your computer for cookies. If cookies are found, the information
is retrieved and the names of your various sets of costs will be be
presented to you for selection. In some cases it is required to initiate a new session with the web site before your computer can "see" a newly saved cookie.
By the way: these are good cookies - they are not used for tracking or any other
devious purpose.
What kind of names should you use?
The name should be meaningful to you. For example, you might name them
to correspond to different regions of the country:
HoustonTx, NashvilleTn, WestTxDesert, WestTxMountain, Central_Illinois,
IllinoisRiverBottom, Houston_Inner_City. Or you might want to use a name to indicate the design type such as: ChicagoShallow, ChicagoDeep, OhioHorizontal.
It is recommended that you use only alpha characters and the underscore in names. Names are case sensitive. Spaces in names are not a good idea.
Of course you can use any naming scheme you wish, they
are your estimating costs and will be seen only by you.
