Polyramix® Diaphragms

ELTECH Gruppo De Nora ’s Polyramix Diaphragm (PMX™) is a non-asbestos separator for use in diaphragm cells. De Nora is recognized as worldwide the leader in diaphragm technology, is also a leader in non- asbestos separators with installations in the United States, Europe and South America.

Polyramix provides many benefits in diaphragm cells and a key feature is the product carries reduced liability since it is not hazardous. In addition, disposal costs can be saved which can run $60-115 per diaphragm annually. The PMX™ diaphragm lasts up to 5 times longer than an asbestos-containing diaphragm.

With it’s reduced power consumption; PMX™ diaphragms can extend the life of diaphragm cell plants. Removal is easy and disposal of the material poses no environmental hazards. De Nora is also working on several modifications that could dramatically extend the life of the diaphragm that would improve the economics for diaphragm plants.

De Nora is constantly evaluating new formulations that could provide significant economic benefit to many of the diaphragm plants using asbestos containing separators. This becomes more beneficial as energy prices become higher which assist plants in cash margin.
